#1 Notre Dame-58, #19 Iowa.-10

Notre Dame played a balanced game and dominated from the whistle. Unfortunately the same problem that haunted them last week showed up again. 5 redzone interceptions for QB Brandon Wimbush on the heels of a 4 redzone pick game last week. This is definitely an issue that the staff is going to have to address cause the team is giving away points at an incredible rate. One the bright side the Irish running game was dominant as well as the receiver play. On defense the Irish created 8 turnovers and if not for a missed tackle by a defensive back held the Iowa attack down for most of the evening. Kicker Justin Yoon missed his first fieldgoal of the season as well as his first extra point. Next up Notre Dame welcomes a red hot Miami Hurricane team to South Bend in what should be a very competitive affair.

WR Quincy Brown (5 rec, 131 yards, 3 TD)

#1 Notre Dame-17, #17 Miami-3

It was a classic defensive battle between two teams that were coming off offensive explosions in week 5. Either team hit the endzone and the Irish saw their past struggles come to the surface. Inconsistency in the redzone continues to plague them as they start to really see their schedule toughen up. The special teams were superb with kicker Justin Yoon hitting on all five of his kicks and the defense continues to be amazing. Wracking up 5 more interceptions on top of a 5 interception game a week ago. Allowing only three points is right about their average for the season. Next up the Irish leave the friendly confines of South Bend for a rematch with division foe Marshall.

K Justin Yoon (5/5 FG's, 15 Points)

#1 Notre Dame-41, #21 Marshall-9

It was the tale of two halfs for an Irish team coming off a game in which they failed to score a single touchdown. The offensive woes continued early on as they were held scoreless til a late fieldgoal right before the half cut the Marshall lead to 9-3. The three first half fieldgoals were all the Irish defense would allow as they shut the door on the Thundering Herd offense in the second half. The Irish got the offense rolling on the back of WR Chase Claypool. Claypool has been a nuisance for the Herd in this season wracking up a total of 321 yards and 3 TD's in the two games. The Irish continued their balanced attack as they look to impose their rushing attack on opponents. Next up the Irish will head home to take on one of the top teams in the NCAA in Michigan. It could be a battle of #1 vs #2 after the new poll results get unveiled.

WR Chase Claypool (7 Rec, 167 Yards, 2 TD)

MLB Myles Morgan (4 Tckl, 2 Sacks, 5 Hurries, 1 FF)

#1 Notre Dame-44, #3 Michigan-18

The weeks most intriguing matchup pitted the undefeated #1 Irish hosting the #3 Michigan Wolverines. This was a sloppy game with many turnovers from both teams but Notre Dame was able to control the game. While the offense turned it over twice in the redzone they were able to punch it in on the ground and through the air and pile up the points. The vaunted Irish defense was great as well only allowing 16 points despite the offense turning it over so many times. Facing a high powered offense like Michigan the coaching staff knew it wouldn't be a game where they could hold their opponent out of the endzone. Holding them to a single touchdown and forcing 5 turnovers is more than enough though and the team is excited to start off the gauntlet schedule they have going forward. Next up it doesn't get any easier as the #2 Washington Huskies come to town in a battle of the nations top two teams.

WR Tony Jones (4 rec, 97 yards, 2 TD)

Notre Dame showed once again that on any given night their offense can look lethargic and uninterested. Penalties and inconsistency led to a very uneven performance by the Irish passing and rushing attack. The defense bailed them out over and over again despite not causing but one turnover during the game. If not for an incredible 49 yard tackle breaking run by Washington's Myles Gaskin, the Huskies wouldn't have scored. The Irish defense forced the Huskies to punt in 11 out their first 12 drives of the game. If the two game home stand against the nation's #2 and #3 teams wasn't enough, now the Irish have to travel to Army to take on their rivals in a game that has always been challenging. The schedule doesn't let up so the Irish will have to buckle down if they want to continue their success.

The Irish traveled to New York City and put on their best performance of the year. In all three facets the Irish were clicking. The offense put up 587 yards on a tough Black Knight defense. Led by QB Brandon Wimbush's 482 yards and 4 TD's the Irish jumped out from the opening possession and never looked back. The record breaking defense played like they have all year getting their 3rd shutout. With the win the Irish retain a three game advantage in the Independent Division over Navy as they look down the barrel of a tough final 6 game schedule.

#1 Notre Dame-60, #9 Rutgers-20

In a game many looked at as a possible buzzsaw for the Irish, Notre Dame was able to jump out fast and coast. The offense turned the ball over a few times in bad positions on the field leaving the defense in tough predicaments but despite it all the offense was able to move the ball most of the game. With a great balance the offense rushed for 154 yards while throwing for 380. The Irish defense caused 7 turnovers including 5 interceptions of Rutger's young qb Cash Cannon. Notre Dame's kicker Justin Yoon had his worst game of the year missing three kicks but luckily none of them were crucial to the outcome of the game. Next up the Irish will travel again as they head to Annapolis to face rival Navy. A game the Irish lost a season ago could be the biggest challenge for the team thus far.

#1 Notre Dame-36, #10 Navy-22

It was a game of ups and downs for the Irish in their toughest contest of the season. The offense showed flashes of brilliance but couldn't contain the pass rush of the Midshipmen, allowing a season high 10 sacks. The run game was neutralized and the turnovers put the nation's top defense in very bad positions. Through it all the Irish proved that even when adversity hits they can overcome and get the job done. On the road against the former Heisman trophy winner, it was a "never say die" attitude that willed this team at the end. It was far from pretty and credit to Navy, they had opportunities to put the Irish away. They are a heck of a team and could be a match up that we see in the postseason. With the win Notre Dame clinches its third straight Independent Conference Championship. Next up the Irish head home to face one of the Super Conference's best teams Clemson.

VS

#1 Notre Dame-43, #3 Clemson-14

The Irish faced off with their 5th top 10 team in the last six weeks and everything looked good and dandy til the training staff reported after the game. The Irish cruised against third ranked Clemson in front a a raucous home crowd but it came with a cost. Not only did star WR Quincy Brown get injured for what might be the season, but star DT Eugene Redus and LT Mick McGlinchey both picked up significant injuries as well. The Irish defense gave up a long TD early on a missed tackle but clamped down for most of the night causing the Tigers QB Neil Obrien to throw 5 interceptions. MLB Myles Morgan snatched three of them and Clemson couldn't overcome the onslaught. Notre Dame's magic number for home field advantage in the bowl playoffs is one as they head to New York to face off with the surging Syracuse Orange.

#1 Notre Dame-31, #18 Syracuse-20

It was a lot like Notre Dame's last road win at Navy, the Irish seemed to scuttle through the game not really doing much but doing just enough to stay in it. When the game was on the line the team made more plays than their opponent. It wasn't pretty thanks to a very hot and impressive opponent, but the Irish showed their composure and heart. It's a game the staff will try to forget as they concentrate on another road test next week in Tallahassee.
