#1 Notre Dame-34, #24 Oregon-3

After a long flight to Eugene the Irish took care of business against an Oregon Duck team that was riding a two game win streak. While the Irish were facing a blitz attack they were still able to get the offense going. QB Leslie Jacques was lights out against his former team completing a season high 71% of his passes and connecting on three TD strikes. The Irish defense was dialed in only allowing a paltry 137 total net yards for the entire game. With another road trip down south to Georgia coming up the Irish can clinch home field throughout the Bowl Playoffs if they can win.

QB Leslie Jacques (20/27 74.1%, 326 Yards, 3 TD, 0 Int, 151.16 Rating)

DE Dalton Hayes (2 Tack, 2 Sacks, 9 Hurries)

In a game that smelled like a trap game the Fighting Irish were able to sneak out of Georgia with an ugly win. Despite leading most of the game the Irish just seemed to be lethargic on offense and couldn't move the ball like they've done most of the year. Heisman hopeful Tony Jones continues to pile up the numbers though and is hoping to break the NCAA record for recieving yards that is held by his teammate Quincy Brown. Notre Dame's defense was the saving grace tonight only allowing the Bulldogs to get fgs. Given some of the turnovers and starting field position this was quite the feat. With the win the Irish clinch home field throughout the bowl playoffs and can rest some of the many ailing players the next two weeks. Up next is the White Knights.

WR Tony Jones (5 Rec, 104 Yards, 1 TD)

#1 Notre Dame-48, #13 Army-21

The Irish weren't playing for anything but pride when they headed to New York to take on the resurgent Army Black Knights. Led by Heisman candidate Tony Jones the Irish offense scored 48 points behind a well balanced attack. With the score 41-7 midway through the 4th quarter the Irish defense had held up against a very potent Black Knight attack. That was until Army TE Ricky Vigue took a short pass and raced 75 yards for a score. Then to top it off the Irish defense allowed another score with 18 seconds on the clock. Despite the fourth quarter woes it was a solid game all around and don't look now but DE Dalton Hayes is now tied for the NCAA lead in sacks with 27 and has a incredible 92 hurries. If he can keep it up he may see his name in the hunt for some silverware at the end of the season. Next up the Irish head back home to take on Navy in what will be the Midshipmen's last game with star QB James Sherwood.

QB Leslie Jacques (15/27 55.6%, 346 Yards, 4 TD, 0 Int, 140.05 Rating)

WR Tony Jones (6 Rec, 187 Yards, 3 TD)

DE Dalton Hayes (6 Tckl, 8 Hurries, 3 Sacks)

#1 Notre Dame-34, #15 Navy-13

In the final game of the 2020 season the Irish were able to keep Navy at bay and complete their second perfect regular season record in a row. Led by a surging passer in Leslie Jacques the Irish's dynamic duo of WR Tony Jones and WR Chase Claypool were too tough for the Midshipmen to handle. Despite being a game that meant little in the overall picture the Irish might wish they could go back and rest some more players after seeing the myriad of injuries that took place. Hopefully with a week off in the first round of Bowl games the team will be able to heal up and get ready to do better than they've done in the past.

QB Leslie Jacques (13/20 65%, 321 Yards, 3 TD, 0 Int, 147.92 Rating)

#1 Notre Dame-48, #10 Washington-20

Notre Dame was eager to take the field after having a week off to heal up. The Irish jumped out of the gate with a nice drive to start the game. Unfortunately they were met with some resistance as the Huskies wouldn't go away. Led by two Heisman candidates in QB Ronald Tiffany and Myles Gaskin, Washington's offense was putting the pressure on the Irish defense early. Luckily for Notre Dame they have their own Heisman candidate in WR Tony Jones. Jones not only proved that he may be the best player in the nation but he was an unstoppable force in this game. He caught 11 ***** for 300 yards and accounted for 5 TD's. After the Huskies got within one score in the third quarter the Irish put their foot on the gas and coasted to victory. Next up is a rematch of last year's Rose Bowl in which the visiting team Arizona knocked off the undefeated Irish in their house. Looking to emulate last year's miracle the defending champions will need to be ready because Notre Dame is going to be extra amped for this one. Watch out folks this could be a blood bath!!

WR Tony Jones (11 Rec, 300 Yards, 5 TD)

DT Donald Vann (1 Tckl, 1 Sack, 2 Hurries, 1 FF)

Redemption was finally served for all the Golden Domer fans across the nation. After the team ran only three times a year ago in the Orange Bowl the Irish decided to ram it down the Wildcat's throats in this year's rematch. It wasn't pretty early but it was the constant pounding on that great defense that finally found holes as the game wore on. Running 33 times for 254 yards set the tone for the kind of game the Irish wanted to play. The first half was tight with both teams not really finding their way but halfway through the third quarter the Irish started to pull away. The vaunted Irish defense only allowed one TD the whole game as the second Arizona score was on a strip sack TD recovery. Led by team captain SS Jay Elliott and his three interceptions Notre Dame played like they have most of the year. "If a team wants to chuck it up 52 times on this defense we're going to grab a few, head coach John Nickell said. Fortunately for us we grabbed 6!"
With the win the Irish will meet two time National Champion Tennessee who beat the Irish in the 2017 title game. With a very tight contested game early in the season there's no doubt this game will be must see TV.

RB James Rorie (10 Rush, 112, yards, 11.2 Avg, 2 TD)

SS Jay Elliott (3 Tckl, 13 ThrownAt, 23.1% Catch%, 3 Int)

#1 Notre Dame-31, #2 Tennessee-21

In a rematch of 2017's National Title game the Irish finally were able to get the job done. Tennessee is the most decorated team in NCAA history and boast one of the best offenses in all the land. On the flip side the Irish take pride in their dominant defense. It was a classic match up of two teams with different philosophies. In this game the Irish tried to slow the game down and keep the Vol offense off the field. With an emphasis on the run game the Irish passing attack was mediocre for most of the game. Tennessee on the other hand just started winging it all over the field and despite their good passing stats they only scored 21 points. On defense it was the Miami transfer Donald Vann that stole the show. With his three sacks and Tillery's two, the Irish had five sacks from their DT's. With the win Notre Dame becomse the first team to go undefeated with a perfect 19-0 season.

RB James Rorie (11 Rush, 70, yards, 6.36 Avg, 1 TD)

DT Donald Vann (3 Tckl, 3 Sacks)

Houston Griffith is a highly touted corner out of Chicago, Illinois. He has elite speed and smarts for the position and will fit in nicely with the style the Irish like to run. He has some good coverage skills but will be more effective in off coverage due to his lack of redirect skills at the line. A superior athlete with great work ethic Griffith still has a lot of growing to do if he wants to get significant playing time in a very deep Irish secondary. "We were ecstatic to have the opportunity to sign a player of Houston's ability, Scouting Director Sam Chistenson said. He's a player that we had significantly higher on our board so we feel very fortunate to bring him in."

The Irish lost DT Eugene Redus after the 2019 season and Donald Vann after the National Championship so it's not surprising that they decided to look for a replacement. DT Jayson Ademilola is a super clean student athlete that works hard and always plays with a fast motor. He's fast and strong and is really maturing as a pass rusher. Unfortunately he's not very stout in the run game and will be a liability if he's asked to be an every down player. He has to work on his tackling as well if he's going to be the type of player the Irish think he can become. "He's a legit pass rusher, Scouting Director Sam Christenson explained. He's not an overall finished product but i know he'll get after the QB and give our dbs a chance at more interceptions."

LB Bo Bauer marks the third freshman recruit signed by the defending champs. Bauer wasn't a highly recruited LB out of high school but he will add some needed depth to a strong defense. He's not a blazer like most of his teammates but he's a smart player that easily diagnoses plays and is always a step ahead. He's better against the run than the pass and most likely will be a two down backer due to his sure tackling He's a big hitter and is an intimidating player when he's on the field. Bauer will need to work on his coverage and pass rush during training camp if he hopes to get any playing time in his freshman year.
